Job opportunities – Research assistant and two post-docs

As part of the ERC consolidator grant (now UKRI Horizon Guarantee), I’m looking to hire three people to help me work on dinosaur tracks and locomotor mechanics:

First up, a Research Support Assistant. This is pretty broad, but I’m looking for someone to help with CT scanning/segmenting and X-ray (#XROMM) data collection, as well as hopefully some light robotics and some coding/3D vis. Deliberately broad because I’m open to people with unique skills that will help the project. There _may_ be an opportunity to also do a PhD part-time with this position. https://jobs.ljmu.ac.uk/vacancy/research-support-assistant-palaeontology-532793.html

Next up is Post-doc 1, for dinosaur track analysis and simulation, essentially applying the techniques I’ve been building for the past decade to more tracks and simulations. Knowledge of Blender/Maya and ideally Discrete Element Modelling would be most welcome. https://jobs.ljmu.ac.uk/vacancy/postdoctoral-research-fellow-dinosaur-track-analysis-simulation-532658.html

Then we’ve got Post-doc 2, for applying musculoskeletal models to legs of birds and dinosaurs, based on above foot motions recovered from tracks. https://jobs.ljmu.ac.uk/vacancy/postdoctoral-research-fellow-dinosaur-locomotor-biomechanics-532942.html

These posts will be advertised until the end of August. If you have questions, drop me a line.
